Employers
The government controlled Live-in Caregiver Program brings workers to Canada to do live-in or live-out work as Caregivers.
A live-in Caregiver provides care to children, the elderly, and or the disabled in a private household.
These are the steps to be taken:
- International Sunshine Caregiver will have you (the employer) and the employee sign a contract.
- International Sunshine Caregiver will forward the signed contract to the appropriate government office. We will also apply for the Labour Market Opinion (LMO).
- Once the approval letter has been received, it is then forwarded by International Sunshine Caregiver to the nanny/caregiver you wish to sponsor. Our office will also forward this documentation to the appropriate visa office abroad.
- Once your nanny/caregiver receives her working permit, we will assist the employer with applying for the required business number from Revenue Canada for tax purposes. Taxes must be paid to Revenue Canada by the 15th of every month via your preferred method of payment.
The entire process often takes two to four months, so you need to plan ahead. |
